Here is how most enterprise AI works in 2026.
You take your most sensitive question. The merger you haven't announced. The health record. The defence spec. You wrap it in an API call and ship it to a data centre you've never seen, operated by a company whose terms of service you skimmed once, in a jurisdiction whose subpoena laws you definitely haven't read.
Then you call this "AI adoption" and put it in the board deck.
The industry's answer to this has been paperwork. Residency attestations. Compliance badges. A PDF that promises your data stays put. Promises are lovely. Promises are also not a mechanism. If the enforcement lives in a policy document instead of the request path, it's a suggestion with a logo.
So we inverted it.
The mechanism, since nobody else leads with one
SkyeGXU turns the machines you already own into a governed AI compute fabric. One Coordinator acts as the control plane. Your own hardware does the computing. Nothing gets rented from a hyperscaler, and nothing crosses your boundary, because crossing the boundary is a blocked action in code.
Four checks run inside every single request. The model cannot answer around them.
Entitlement first. No valid licence, no inference. The Coordinator verifies the requester against their SkyeConnex identity before any work is queued. Sovereignty you can forget to switch on isn't sovereignty. It's a default you'll misconfigure on a Friday.
Grounded in your material. Answers bind to your own knowledge base through on-device retrieval. Your AI cites your documents, on your machines. Novel concept.
Custody on every completion. Each answer writes a signed, tamper-evident audit line. Who asked, which model, a hash of the prompt, how much context. No plaintext stored, ever. When the auditor shows up, you have receipts instead of vibes.
A boundary that refuses. The fabric will not forward tenant data to any endpoint that isn't node-local and non-egress. The word is refuses. Not "discourages." Not "logs for review."
Scaling without a procurement cycle
The Coordinator fans work out across every Agent you connect. Embeddings, knowledge-base work, and now full conversational generation, distributed the same way. Add a box, get more capacity. More machines, more concurrent conversations, every one of them still governed.
You already own compute. It's sitting there right now, depreciating politely while you pay someone else for tokens.
About that headline
Yes, SkyeGXU now works with NVIDIA PAIR. Some context before anyone writes the wrong story.
We've been running governed, distributed AI on customer-owned hardware since last year. The entitlement gate, the custody log, the sovereign boundary, all of it sits on our own patent-pending architecture. We didn't need PAIR to do any of this.
So why adopt it? Because the market picked a lane. PAIR is an open-source Apache-2.0 router, it's becoming the way people reach fast on-device inference endpoints, and refusing to speak the market's language on principle is how good architecture dies alone. So we play along. Where PAIR endpoints exist, SkyeGXU can reach them, and every request through them is still entitlement-checked, still grounded, still written to the custody log. The governance doesn't move an inch.
And it's optional. Remove PAIR and the fabric falls back to its own local generation. Nothing breaks. An accelerator you depend on isn't an accelerator. It's a dependency with better marketing.
The part where you don't rewrite anything
The Coordinator exposes OpenAI and Ollama compatible endpoints. Point your existing tools at the SkyeGXU box and they work. No SDK migration project. No six-month integration roadmap with its own steering committee.
The uncomfortable question
Ask your AI vendor one thing: when my prompt leaves my building, what physically stops it from going somewhere I didn't approve?
If the answer is a contract clause, you don't have sovereignty. You have a courier service with good branding.
We think the enforcement belongs in the request path. So that's where we put it.
